Chapman University, founded in 1861 and based in the city of Orange, is one of the oldest, most prestigious private universities in California.

Known for its blend of liberal arts and professional programs, the university is comprised of seven schools and colleges: the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics, College of Educational Studies, College of Performing Arts, Lawrence and Kristina Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Schmid College of Science, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Law. The Undergraduate program offers 45 majors with more than 70 areas of study and the Graduate program offers 28 programs with more than 30 areas of study.

Chapman’s schools and departments are committed to excellence, a result seen in some of the following characteristics:

  • Over 91 percent of Chapman’s faculty hold terminal degrees.
  • With a 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio, opportunities abound to engage in research with professors and fellow students.

Chapman is a member of The Common Application. Be sure to complete the Chapman Supplement and departmental applications as necessary (for art, film, dance, music and theatre majors only).

Scholarships:

Non-need merit based scholarships are available to high achieving international students. Merit scholarships are awarded according to a student’s academic performance on grades, test scores and curriculum. Scholarships range from approximately $2,000 to over $20,000 a year and are renewable for the entire course of study at Chapman University.

International Students should submit:

  • The Common Application, Chapman Supplement, and any necessary Departmental Applications (art, film, dance, music and theatre majors only)
  • $55 Application Fee
  • TOEFL exam (minimum score of 80 on iBT) OR IELTS (score of 6.5 or higher) for citizens of non English speaking countries.
  • SAT scores
  • All official transcripts (with an English translation, if necessary)
  • Recommendation
  • Financial Certification and supporting documentation
